Hi. I will be there. I work at Benson so can help out with car passes etc if needs be. There is also track days on the runway sometimes. I will ask at work about the possability of one this year.

I imagine that there will be a similar amount of aircraft this year. I will find out what is planned to be there and post it here. I think some of the people who went last year have got pictures so if you could post them on this forum that would be great. Look forward to seeing you all on the day.

    Regards,

    Hi everyone. I just checked with the organisers of the families day. This info was on the station local intranet;

    Aerial Display

    What to expect!

As always, we hope to have a fantastic display during the day. The Red Arrows are unable to put on a show for us this year due to other commitments but they have promised us a flypast so watch out for the reds in the sky. We also hope to have displays from the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight and the RAF Falcon parachute display team.

For something different this year we are aiming to include a role demonstration from the Puma and the Merlin. It's not often that the families of our personnel get to come over to the technical side so rather than just show them a good time, we thought we'd also show them some of what all the hard work goes towards!

    Static Display

    Whose here this year?

    Exhibitors this year will include:

    - Oxford Animal Rescue
    - Families' Federation
    - Land Rover Sales
    - RAF Museum
    - RAF MSA (motorbikes)
    - RBL
    - RAFBF
    - Microlites
    - Gift and Gem Stones
    - Guide Dogs for the Blind

There will also be food and snack outlets including the crepe wagon, Humbugs, hog roast, ice-cream, cakes and quiches.

We also hope to have a mini train (1/3 scale model) available which pulls two carriages down a 100m track!

This is all the info I have at the moment, I will post more details closer to the day.

    Regards,
    Greg

    Hi Peep's,

One more aircraft to add to the list above is a Gloster Meteor Martin Baker test aircraft. It isnt confirmed as attending. However, it was flying at Benson yesterday and seemed to be practising a flying display. So I would expect it to attend on the day.

    Regards,
    Greg
