    Hi Perrie,

You could try Alders Automotive, they do all American transmissions, rebuild and conversions.
They are down on the south coast so fairly close to you?

I'm quite local to Alders and know quite a few people who have dealt with them (I've been told of experiences first hand, not just gossip). I feel safe in saying the experience has been variable, and quite polarized. Some always go there for work on their cars (they do all mechanical not just gearboxes), some won't go there ever again. I don't feel able to go into specifics on an open forum as my personal experiences with them are limited.... I would suggest if you go there you're very specific with what you need and when you need it by.

Thx for this information it will help me make a choice
They are asking 1000.00 for reconditioning with new torque converter, plus extra for a shift kit which I think you need
Or maybe it can be done by my self looks do able apart from fitting the bushes
Also how easy is it to get the right rebuild kit
And also I believe you can change the thrust shims for special bearings to help relieve drag which you get from the c6 weither it's worth the extra agro getting those parts I don't know

Pretty reasonable? I'm not sure what a fair price is really as I haven't gone through it myself!
but if they know what they are talking about and you are happy that's the main thing.
its pretty easy to get a rebuild kit for the shifter and all the chrome bits of trim too from CJ's and they have
a video too on how to install it etc.

I've used Richard Alders for transmission rebuilds (approx 25 units) and have never had a problem with them. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them.
