    Just bought a 69 Mach 1

    Hi All,

Just bought a 1969 Mach 1 351W 4 barrel. It's a California survivor car, 1 owner and in time warp condition. Car has original paint, all matching numbers and no rust anywhere.

A MASSIVE thanks to Javed (GT350) for all his help in finding the Mustang, doing a vehicle inspection, sorting out the logistics of the sale and his advice. What a legend!

Here a few pics Javed took showing the condition:

    Great

    Looking car.
Unmolested data plate, but after 50 years the car must have a story.
San Jose assembled car wearing Dearborn stampings ?
    Best wishes

Thanks for your comments. The only mods the car has had are an Edelbrock carb and air filter, it does come with the orignal carb and filter though.

And sacrilege some may say but I'm buying Magnums and BFG's for it. 15x8s back and 15x7s front and BFGs. I'll keep the existing wheels aside for originality.

And the paint work is tired as you'd expect but that's staying as is, keeping it original.

Again, I wouldn't have the car if wasn't for Javed, so big thanks to him.

    Just googled and

Answered my own question regarding Dearborn stampings, San jose was an assembly plant the unibody parts being stamped at Dearborn and then shipped out to California.
    Never new that !
    Best wishes

dont have a hang up about the wheels. it was the first thing i looked at. not knowing them too well in my defence, i thought they detracted too much from the muscle look and a slight contradiction.
i think a good call but as you say you have the orignals and it is YOUR car

    Well done, old boy!

Looks fantastic and I love the originality. Wheels, as said above, are your choice. The Magnums will really enhance the muscle look, but I do like the ones it has and they're more of a talking point.

Saw your '72 up for sale on Car and Classic, too. I think you made the right decision to keep the Lotus.

Now.... do you take your '69 down to Roy for a once-over? He'd love to see it. There's a lovely pub down the road from him and, of course, my house is on the way. :-)
