Not a bad price considering how iconic the car is. That’s pocket money to the super rich car collectors.

As Mark said, this could have went mental. Could have had a Sheik making a million a day pumping oil just buy it for jollies. Exciting auction to watch. Well sold

Totally agree but must admit I did have a tier in my eye when they brought the most iconic mustang out

Agree with what's been said. I can't believe that it went so cheaply considering it's proven provenance. Surely the most iconic movie car ever?

I wonder why Chad Mc Queen did not bid for the Mustang? Steve always wanted the car , he tried to buy it back in the seventies.

Don't know much about Chad, but I don't think hes a big film star? And 3.5m is still a chunk of change!

Chad is an actor, martial artist and race driver who, after being seriously injured in a crash whilst preparing for the 24 hours of Daytona, retired from racing. He now owns his own company, McQueen Racing LLC, and is reputedly worth $45m.

I wonder who purchased the Bullitt Mustang? Hope it is not locked away never to be seen again.
