About to own my first Mustang

Hey guys hope you're all good.

I've wanted to own a Mustang since childhood and im sure I am not the only one that felt this. That feeling was compounded when I traveled to the Grand Canyon and back from Vegas in a Penske 5 years ago.

Im proud to say tomorrow I should be securing my very first Mustang.

My burning question at this point though is, where is best for insurance for these cars? I have quotes off the 'standard' insurers but does anyone have any experience or recommendation for a specialist company?

Great to be here, great site.

Thanks Geoff, not sure how I missed that banner. Anywhere else recommended to try?

I'm with Brentacre, fair enough quote and seem to know their stuff.

          Another Brentacre vote.
What year / spec car have you got.
          Photos are essential.

Thanks for that I'll give them both a ring.

I've seen quite a few, high and low spec. Im going for a Low Spec 2016 GT that is slightly over-priced but is absolutely immaculate, it feels & looks like its never been driven, Orange Fury with Duo-Tone seats and subtle black stripes. No Sat-Nav or Heated/Cooled seats. Rather pay slightly more for a lower spec that is stunning in every single way.

Rest assured photo's will be en route as soon as I pick it up and I'll become a fully paid up member I'll be on here alot I imagine.

The Orange one is gorgeous! But I didnt end up going for it. I went to see one more today up in Watford, as the guy was tied up and couldn't see me. Ended up putting a deposit on a red one with less miles, most of the extra's and that same immaculate feel. Not as visually imposing as the Orange one, and a common colour I imagine but more subtle and very classy in its own right. The value was definitely there.

He also said something about a rumour that they may be discontinuing the Mustang over here, probably just a marketing ploy.

                    By Duo-Tone I meant Duo-Tone Leather Seats.

                    Thanks all.

Iíd stay away from duo tone, sounds like itís been in a crash, not into after market black/orange seats. Unless you mean the standard tan/black or cream/black?

You might want to join before getting your insurance quote as some providers give you a discount for MOCGB membership? Just one of the benefits.

                            Thanks guys,

Unfortunately none of the specialist insurers would come close to More Than, at least not for first year of ownership. So Im with More Than and will be picking the car up either Saturday or moving into next week.

The specialist companies suit import policies more than standard UK cars.
