    Hey all.

Thought id say hi. Bought my dream car a couple of years ago, then built a garage for it.... then started getting to know it and begin the project. . Hundreds of hours in with hundreds to go... loving every minute of it. Built on rum, swear words and rock music. Has a rough around the edges charm like its owner. 😁

    Keep well.

V happy with the matt black....was originally green, yhen gold. ive only 50mm either side of the car when i squeeze it down the side of the house, lucky there narrow cars but being matt black means the unavoidable scratches are easy to patch up with a spray can.... all adds character.

Externally itll be getting retro bullet wheels and a custom duel exhaust. Not changing anything else now. There's cosmetic repairs to be done but happy with all the dents and worn edges as is for now. I like the look.

Itll be a bit of a beast eventually....

Done a hell of a lot to it.

      complete Rewired, aaw kit.
      hids,
      seatbelts front and rear.
      Lowered.
      Koni shocks
      Shelby drop
1" sway bar - flipped strut rods underneath lca's for clearance and works really well.
      Led rear uk. Spec lights
      Disk brakes
      Electric washer pump
      Big block rad
      Sound system
New steering collumn(well second as i killed the first with a crowbar.)
      New steering box
      Got heater working
      New handles
      New locks
      Alarm
      Central locking
      New carb.
      Hood indicators.
      Plus a million other things...

Still a million more to do.

Enjoying the journey. Learning a hell of a lot by generally doing everything wrong once. Standard practice.

Time for my coffee , smoke and feed the fishes then another day in the garage.

      Paul

Welcome to the forum, great looking car, keep up the good work.
I used to have an early 70's firebird which was matt black, like you say no worries about the paint work.

Ill go take one .... im moving the battery to the trunk as we speak....

Its currently a straight six , fallen for this engine really as ive learnt all about how it works.... rebuilt the carb... then changed the carb after repeated times trying to figure out whats happening with max speed of fifty and overheating. Trouble is it did this when i bought it and i have spent countless hours timing, adjusting carb, rebuilding carb, vac timing... anyway, skip 2 years and a few months ago whilst getting a lift home by the rac with the misses... after overheating 3 times we finally gave up and broke down in a pub.... it dawned on me.... its not been shifting to third. Lol never has done. Doh! Anyway, ive got a c4 being built up when i can afford it to handle 500lb of torque or there abouts.. so the i6 tranny will be an ornament in the garage.... too much to do to get this one fixed too.... i checked the vac mod line and past that its near enough for my other changes to admit defeat to that battle... a fresh c4 will be coming.
