    Hi Rebel,
welcome to Mustang ownership and the forum. Not sure what happened to your pictures but I'd like to see your 2.3.
I love the Fox body mustangs and have a 2.3 convertible which I've owned for around 3 years.
You say that yours is a "Ghia" but if it's a 1987, it will be an "LX" model. The Ghia was dropped from production at the end of 1981.

Here's a picture of my 2.3 on a rainy Gt.Yarmouth sea front back in October

Enjoy your car. If there's anything I can help you with, just contact me through the forum.

          Thanx for the replies guy's.

John - a Suzy fan as well.
There is one thing, my car has no dash board lights. I was thinking that it might be something to do with the dimmer control, will it need replacing or can it just be cleaned up?
As for it being a Ghia car, the log book says Ghia but I suppose it depends on what the original owner stated when it was inported, lol

Hard to tell but it looks pretty rust free and pretty straight. :)

              Hi Rebel.
That looks like a pretty straight old Fox. Definitely an LX. Just needs some paint. The dimmer could be your problem but have you checked all the fuses? I'm not sure about the hatchbacks but on convertibles the dimmer also operates the interior lights. Just click it round when it comes to the stop. Is this working?
My 79 V8 has the same problem. It constantly blows the fuse for the dash lights. I've not figured out why yet. I'm hoping it's nothing much. I've got so much else to do on it that the dash lights are low priority. :)

The desciption on the V5 is totally meaningless. My 2.3 is stated as being a Ford Monarch. It's a real pain to get changed so I've decided to leave it.
I think you will find quite a few Mustang owners with incorrect V5c descriptions. :(

As your are in Northumberland give Gary at ARP a ring as he has been brilliant with advice, parts and the odd Big Mac in the 10 odd years i have known him. Welcome to the club, there are plenty of Mustangs and other lesser Yanks in the North East. I worked around there for 8 or 9 years and it's suprising what you see about. :D

Suzyfan - thanx for the info, yes the dimmer also operates the courtesy light, when turned all the way round and "clicked" the courtesy light comes on ok, thats the only one though (the one in the headlining). The fuse for the dash lights hasn't blown - although it's a 15amp instead of a 10amp. Haven't been able to spend a great deal of time on it yet so more investigating to do

95Stang - The MOT was put on in August so unless its a bent MOT, at least she's solid :D. the pics do make her look a little better than she is, a few car park dings and some obviously hurried welding / repairs and the doors are on their way out. Happy with it though and love how it drives :D

Allan96GT - I know Gary already and especially his mate Dick from "RG Auto Specialist". He's only about 20 minutes from me and has helped with a lot of my cars so far. I also own a '68 Charger and a '73 Ranchero as well as an '87 Escort and '97 Mondeo :D
