    Weaping core plug

can you replace the passenger side core plug that is behind the engine mount on a 69 convertible with 351 Cleveland. Whilst the engine is in the car? Not really keen to use radweld type stuff as have brand new ally rad which I donít want to him up. Thanks

You can, but it won't be easy. Need to support the engine, undo engine mount, jack engine up enough to access the plug, remove it and then refit the new plug before reversing the procedure. I made up a tool to do jobs like this basically like a very short 'tophat' with an indent on the large side so I can sit the new core plug on the small side, offer it up to the hole while holding a long drift into the indent and then tapping it into place. No pics but I'm sure you get the idea. Did it at the side of the road one day so there's your challenge! HTH
    Cheers, Martin

Done. Well rotted went for a brass one. Will have to do rest. Thinks a winter engine out job. Few mods Iím dreaming of anyway.
