    Radiator, shroud and fan fitting

Hi everyone, I have just bought a new 2 row aluminium radiator, 6 blade 17” flexi fan and new fan shroud. The radiator fitted perfectly. The fan with spacer fitted perfectly, leaving the fan 1” at closest point to the rad. The shroud when fitted is very very close ,depth wise to the fan and the fan is almost all the way in the shroud. The only way I can see it working is if I get a shorter fan spacer. It would fit in correct position to the shroud, half in, half out, but would now be 2” at least away from rad. Or I could try cutting the thickness of the shroud so it sits nearer the rad. I got the shroud from CJ Pony Parts, the offending bit is the top inside. Any advice please

If the shroud mounts nice and firm I would go for a shorter spacer on the fan. As long as the fan fits well in the shroud it will still be efficient at moving the air.

You might find it runs fine without the shroud. Try it and see or try a different spacer.
