65 disc brake master cyl fittings

I put a new master and booster on my 65 and it has the larger 3/8 and 1/2 fittings. I made new pipes up for the master to prop valve but the larger 1/2" is not right, it's bottoming out and weeping a little. I need either a longer 1/2" fitting, or a 1/2" female adaptor to 3/8 male fitting on the pipe. Problem is, i'm struggling to get one. Can anyone suggest a source.
    cheers Mick

Rock Auto usually have kits with a ton of fittings available. Or Amazon.com. You'll need to search out what you want exactly but here is an example from Amazon, delivered duty paid for $17.

Lots of smaller sizes but no 1/2" They do a 1/2" male to 3/8 female but I can't find one, except abroad.

Mustang Maniac may have what you need?

Seems a strange problem but thinking laterally, if you have full thread engagement maybe you could mill the master cylinder boss down a little to allow the tube nut some more travel before hitting the hex.

That does seem strange that it is bottoming out. My master cylinder has quite a few threads still exposed. Are you sure you have double flare ends on the pipes? You can also get longer and shorter pipe unions. I always buy the longer ones.

Thanks for your replies, drove it today and I dont think it is leaking now but the brakes are still not very good, it's got a good solid pedal but doesn't feel like the servo is kicking in. I've got some new brake flexis I might try them, bleed the brakes and if that doesn't work maybe change the prop valve. Master and servo are new, I bench bled the master, I also had to drill the brake pedal 1" further down, the pushrod is offset, to make the angle less severe.

Just ordered the 1/2"-20 18mm long Thanks Alan, you're a wealth of knowledge.

I don't think it's the pipes if they are not leaking and the pedal is solid. It could be a servo problem, but if you have a 7" servo like the ones in the disc conversion kits, I feel these are a bit marginal. I fitted one to my car and I could feel the pedal getting harder without braking effort increasing. I ended up fitting a 9" servo from a later Mustang. By drilling the servo rod further down the pedal, you have also reduced the leverage and consequently force on the servo rod. There is a guy in the USA, Mustang Steve, who does a bolt in 9" servo conversion, it might be worth looking him up. The proportioning valve reduces brake pressure to the rear brakes to stop them locking, that's not your problem.

Powered generally has 4.5-5.0 ratio, man has 6.1, instructions gave me the measurement. I've been reading up online, got a few things to try, will report back with my findings, hopefully a cure.

When I fitted the 9" servo on my car I had to re-drill the pedal arm as the servo rod had an offset end to it, but for the std 7" servo it has a straight eye on it that pretty well matches the old single circuit master cylinder. You are correct in that the stock manual brake pedal is a 6:1 ratio and the servo assist pedal for the 9" servo is 4:1 ratio. The 9" servo gives a very modern feel to the brakes

I've ordered a vac pipe for intake to servo, there's no splits in it but I now know that vac pipe is different to fuel pipe. I tested the servo by pumping the pedal and holding it, switched the engine on and the pedal drops a little, so that seems fine. I put my vac gauge on the pipe from carb to servo, at tickover it read around 18-19 " vac and isn't dropping unless you rev it. My booster is 7".
