    Rear prop coupling

After a wee bit of advice on the rear prop coupling on my 67.

In the UJ kit for the rear coupling, are 2 half moon shaped. steel "clips" or "shims"

The rear coupling sits in the axle flange and his held by 2 U bolts. When bolted in the joint appears securely fixed in place, but i cant work out were these "clips" fit in, If indeed they do. There were none on the old joint when removed.

Does anyone Know if these are a unversal kit and these Clips are for an earlier/later application.

    Thanx guys

The circlips are just used in the prop, the axle end just uses the U bolts.

The two half moon rings are (I think) for the internal type lock rings seldom used on Mustangs.

The bearing caps should sit snuggly into two raised ears in the drive coupling.

      Cheers Mike

I had a sneaky feeling that was the case. Plus i got bored laying under the car with the wind whipping all the dust n crap in me eyes.

They can go in the growing bowl of "stuff" i collect, I,ll never use them, but you never know!!!

      Thanx again
