    Power Steering problem

Any ideas on a 67 coupe power steering very light on right hand lock but very heavy left hand lock, control valve seals have been replaced

Mmm, had this with our '68 a few years ago. Replaced the seals, but in the end just gave up and got another control valve; either from NPD or Rock, forget which.

This might not be too difficult to rectify. It could be that the centering spring in the valve has not been adjusted properly. There are a few You Tube vids on overhauling the valve. Have a look at these and make sure you have all the spacers and washers in the right order. The cap on the end of the valve is easily accessible and so is the centering spring nut. You could try adjusting this nut as it sounds as if the valve is working one way but not the other.

the centring spring is exactly that, it centres the valve in the system. the nut holding the spring on should NOT be tight. it should be nipped up then undone one quarter of a turn. this allows articulation in the valve system to stop internal binding and is not for fine tuning the steering.

it sounds like there is a washer misplaced in the system but as said in the post above try resetting the nut first.
