    Rust treatment gel stuff

Got a couple of rust areas to treat on the Land Rover, its not bad but I wanted to put some sort of rust treatment jollop on it before primer. Is it a waste of time or do any of them actually work? Recommendations please.

Iíve used a spray type which turns the rust black, neutralises the oxidation process.

I used Jenolite rust converter on my 05 axle before giving it a paint in the hope it lasts longer.

As has been said it turns the rust black and gave a better surface for painting. It was only a few quid so even if it just makes me think it helps Iím happy.

A chum with a couple of series tried this stuff...seems to give a decent finish to axles and stuffs...easy to apply....not posh, but does the job.

Bilt hamber deox is amazing stuff and converts rust very well.

POR15 is expensive but ten times better and tougher than Hammerite.
You can apparently use it straight on rust though I'd probably use a proprietary rust converter first.
