You could always rawl bolt down a length of 3 x 3 to act as a "stop block" so that you could never roll into the house. I have heard of people doing this in garages where they want to get the car as far in as possible with ease - just edge it up to the block and you know you will never inadvertently...

So - does no one know what the component is in the boot - I am concerned it could be damaged by something stray in the boot.

I am still finding my way around the information displays. When I collected the car from the dealers last Monday, instead of the trip computer being displayed, there...

    Many thanks for the support.

I am convinced there is something seriously wrong with the engine. I simply cannot comprehend that 500 miles to a pint can be normal.

However, I can only follow what the dealer suggests - put another 1,000 miles on the clock and let them see...

Just checked the oil again after doing 105 miles yesterday to the garage and back, and the level is down about 1/8 of an inch on the stick. It must be drinking it. I am just hoping it settles down after a few thousand miles, otherwise I will have to send it back after the 2years PCP deal is up....

The check at 1,200 miles was the first time I dipped it, so in theory it could have been short at new, but surely not ? I seriously never expected this at.

Having said that, I used to be in the motor trade over 40 years ago and a guy had his Mini serviced at a Lancaster BL dealer, drove...

Another point - page 238 of the manual states "Do not use more than 1 litre of oil between scheduled service intervals." That would infer that Ford are not expecting the car to use more than 1 litre per 10,000 miles. My car has used 1.325 litres in 1,200 miles ! So - what am I supposed to...

I will see about posting a picture about the component in the LHS depth of the boot. There is a wire or cable to it.

I found something else today - to the top left of the speedo was a letter E. Never seen that before - then it changed to NW and then N - so it must be a basic compass !!!...

Thanks - that does help - just wish I had known about it so I could have been checking it after say 500 miles and not 1,200 miles as I did. I am hoping being 450 ml short for maybe 2-300 miles will not be an issue.

I have the car back from the dealers. they confirm there are no oil leaks...

I decided to go for a new model so that I could get the car to the exact spec I wanted - I searched for months to get an ex demo but finding a V8 manual convertible with silver wheels was impossible. ( I am not keen on black wheels and manuals seem rare) The Ford dealers are contracted to have a demo...

    Discovering new "toys"

I have had my car just over 6 months and just by chance discovered something new. I was searching on various sites and came across a Ford article about storage in the Mustang. It mentioned a compartment in the glove box that will hold the handbook. Lo and behold there is one - a yellow lever releases...

Oil Consumption, Oil Pressure Warning Light

    Re my V8 5.0 - new 1st March 2020.

I was loving the car to bits until 2 weeks ago when I dipped the oil and it was BELOW the minimum after 1,215 miles. Having had 8 new/ex demo Vauxhalls in the last 18 years that I put a total of 0.8 litres in one car and once only, I was staggered to find...

New Member from Settle, North Yorkshire

Good morning to all in the club, only 16.2 degrees but sunny here. I have had the manual V8 convertible in Race Red since 1st March, but only done 1,270 miles due to the virus. I specified a windbreak, front parking sensors, boot liner and silver wheels as the standard black ones are not for me. ...
