I think the magazine has improved massively over the past few months.

It used to be a thin, average quality mag. that I would read in 5 minutes and then move on, having felt little attachment to the club or its members.

But look at it now - a thick glossy publication that I...

    Hello Peter,

    All went smoothly for me.

Used the "print all" option - although only need the first page (it covers both days), as the other 2 are just advertising the package options.

Can you forward the mail to another pc and print from there maybe?

    All done and back together.

Torqued to lower value then nipped to next castellation for the split pins. Both were one flat tighter than the marks I’d made so a good use of my newly acquired Halfords Advance torque wrench - was getting a bit boring having done 52 wheel nuts

    Thanks Mike.
    And cheers saleen too.

Found some likely candidates today in a cardboard box at a nearby old school motor factors, called appropriately “Whoopee” so fingers crossed they’ll do the job.

    It’s a ‘65 Mike.
I’ll post up whether I’ve had any success tomorrow.

    Thanks....

Haha - yes, but that's not the half of it!

They'd tried the centre push horn with no sound resulting so came to ask if it was elsewhere. I showed them the small dome button behind the oil pressure gauge and explained that as it was so buried I tend to use hand signals instead - but it...

Cheers Martin - yep, there's one more likely parts shop I'll hopefully have time to try tomorrow and if not I'll nip to the garage next door....

Nope - didn't even have a universal kit in stock.

Looks like it's on to sorting the lawn mower drive clutch for this afternoon instead then!...

    Dust Boots

    Hi,

Car failed MOT yesterday on a split dust boot on the inner steering arm connection - yep, schoolboy error!

Managed to get the steering arm off and noticed a small tear in the ball joint boot too so want to replace both.

In the good old days I'd have wandered...

I've not got around to refurbishing my T-10 and it's 2 years now since the Toploader replaced it - was going to be a nice winter project.

From what I've found "gear5th" on eBay seem to have the most parts availability before you go looking at specific specialists.

For a manual use GL4 such as Comma EP80W-90 readily available from Halfords etc.

I've used it in my BW T-10 and Toploader boxes.

Apparently the sychro rings don't get on so well with GL5 spec. so better to stay away from that.

    Be interesting to hear what's...

  • Thanks for posting the update Karl.

All looks good and sounds like you have the build very much in control from the detail of the spec.

What the heck is a 9 way adjustable timing set then? I don’t have that much adjustment on my car seats....

Well Real Steel would be the one to come to mind but not had personal experience of them.

I guess the important thing is the re-manufacturing origin of the engine supply, rather than the putting it in a crate and selling it bit.

If it was me I'd like to see a full list of the...
