    Newbie (not yet purchased)

Hey all! I have been toying with the idea of getting a V8 Mustang for a while now, and finally I have convinced the wife that its a good idea, so looking to buy one in the next few months. I will be looking for a 15 plate onward as she doesn't want a LHD. Just wondering if you folks know how well the new ones hold there value and any things to look out for when buying!

Hope to be tearing it up in the V8 soon!

    Cheers

    Calum

Like any car they don’t hold theirs value but not do they depreciate unreasonably. If you’re planning on keeping it it doesn’t matter. You shouldn’t be put off by LHD, I actually prefer it, as do many others.

I like the LHD position, adds to that special feeling when I get in and drive but it's a personal preference I guess. Was dressing it when I'd never driven LHD but now feels second nature.

There's some good deals second hand on these cars so take your time searching. Good choice on the V8

Values held up well initially on the 2015's when there was a waiting list.

Many were bought on PCP deals (like a lot of new cars these days) which are reaching the end of their 3 year term now, so expect quite a few to 'flood the market' if such a thing is possible with a car that sells in relatively small numbers. Also the new 2018 model meant dealers were offering 0% interest and other deals to clear stock of the 'old' 2017 models for around £36k plus options

I think bargains can be had, they are a desirable car, and if you can buy an early GT for a good price (£25-27k?) it should hold up for a couple of years without too much depreciation - bearing in mind 2013/2014 LHD GT's are still selling at £20k

    Only my opinion of course....

Do S550's actually sell, as a 2nd hand car, there always seem to be plenty for sale?
Don't buy a LHD S550 as you will struggle to sell it, S197s were only available in LHD but you soon get used to the steering wheel being on the wrong (right!) side.
    Good luck with your search.

Not in this country though! I guess out of warranty would be ok but why make life difficult for yourself.
